Applicant FAQs

How do I participate in placement activities?

Register for placement at http://www.asnet.org/placement and electronically post your resume. You should view employment opportunities and apply to universities, and/or universities may browse the candidate database and contact you directly.

How do I meet my interviewers?

Interviewees typically meet University representatives either at the entrance or inside the placement rooms (interviewing area). A message board will be placed next to the placement area for posting of coordinating messages. It is the responsibility of the applicant and not AIS representatives, to locate University representatives. Coordinate meeting locations and identifying signals prior to the conference.

Who do we contact at AIS for placement related question?

For AIS placement related questions, please contact Arthornvait Kantasuk (finance@aisnet.org or phone: +1 (404) 463-0348).

Where do we interview job applicants?

With your placement registration fee, recruiters that have electronically posted a position and have registered for AMCIS can select either a private booth for a fee, or a complimentary table in the general placement area.

Private Placement Tables: This option is available based on space at varying conference venues. The charge for this option is $200. This provides one set location with 6x8 or 8x8 booth (full side and back drapes), skirted table, and three chairs. Each university who utilizes this service will be listed on a map available at the entrance to the private placement area. Institutional Members of AIS, and Sponsors of AMCIS 05, who are recruiting receive a private placement booth as part of the benefit of their Institutional Member status or Sponsorship. Remaining booths are filled on a first come, first served basis. This service is an attempt to provide a more economical option than booking a private hotel suite, for schools during their recruitment process. It allows them one set location and additional privacy for their interviews.

General: These free tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. Paper tent cards are provided at the conference by AIS with the name of the university, however you may also bring signage that will attach to these tables. Both the university and the individual must be registered with AIS Placement and registered for the conference (university representatives and candidates) in order to obtain access to the AIS hosted placement space.
